What is Telecentricity?

A lens is considered telecentric when its chief rays are parallel to the optical axis. Due to the rays being parallel it is ideal for coaxial lighting. Telecentric lenses eliminate perspective errors and when the WD changes, the magnification does not. These aspects allow for accurate measurement of both static, and vertically moving objects. The THV Series supports up to 9 megapixel and 1" large format sensor camera. Ideal for a great variety of dimensional-gauging applications including threaded fasteners, machined parts, bottle geometry, and PCB component placement, or any time you want to measure something with little or no perspective error, or with varying distances.
